Retailing of the years to come will have a completely different complexion than the experience of the past. Long gone will be the ‘easy money’ of the Stack it High and Watch it Fly style of merchandising and product displays. Our customers want more quality and value for their spending dollars. They want to be sure that the items and services they are purchasing will last longer than the need of the initial application. They want to be assured that quality is in proportion to dollars being spent. We as retailers need to understand this and respond accordingly if we are to survive the consuming maze of tomorrow and we need to demand these same standards from our suppliers as well.

Besides the financial health of our community, locally-owned businesses provide character, prosperity and well-being to the many other organizations in our town. Keeping the dollars, decision making & jobs local help build a better infrastructure for our town to prosper. Innovation with self pride fuels the enthusiasm of new ideas and expansion of entrepreneurial ideas and product diversification. Locally-owned businesses also lower the cost of public services and environmental impacts by not demanding more from the public servants of our community. More local small businesses also create a more competitive and cooperative marketplace which is fun for our neighbors and customers. So Good Buy Local or Good Bye Local.
