 Got Ice? Melt it!

     There are plenty of options when it comes to melting ice. It is important to consider the environment you will be treating in order to use the proper product.    

Rock Salt = Sodium Chloride 

• Inexpensive

• Has a limited melt range

• Tracks inside

• Harms lawns / greenery

ClearPath = Calcium Chloride/Sodium Chloride 

• Effective to -15F

• Uses the heating action of calcium chloride to activate the melting action of rock salt.  Each grain infused with exact ratio of salt to calcium for maximum melt.

• Penetrates ice faster and deeper than either ingredient acting alone.

• Requires much less product than sodium chloride.

• Environmentally friendly through better efficiency – less chlorides release into the environment.

• Pet and vegetation friendly.

Safe Step, Pet Safe, Ace Ice Melter  = Potassium Chloride 

• More expensive, but more effective

• Broader range of melt.  Works below zero and moisture created equals longer melt time.  (Time-release effect)

• Less tracking

• Safer for grass, shrubs, and walks.

• Pet and animal friendly

Inferno = Calcium Magnesium Acetate (CMA) 

• Becomes active when it touches ice or snow-can be applied before a storm.

• Melts to -22F with 100% active ingredients.

• Colored for even, visual coverage: 1 cup covers 500 sq. ft.

• Safe for vegetation, pets and children – environmentally friendly.

• Non-Tracking on floors and carpets.

Calcium Chloride = Harsh Melt / Corrosive 

• Kills vegetation and shrubs on contact

• Scales and pits concrete
